79 Links to 27 Pages >> 176% Gain

A DR 54 logistics company hired us to boost their rankings with authority links across 27 of their high-value pages.

In 6 months, we landed 79 backlinks from great sites like ShipBob, Hubspot, and Avada, and it led to a 176% increase in traffic to those pages.

Our Methodology

These are the steps we took ⬇️

➡️Identified 1000 long tail keywords for each of their 7 priority topics with the help of Ahrefs and scraped the top 50 results of each term with an internal tool (P.S. We’re working on making this available to fellow link builders soon!).

➡️Used bulk actions with Netpeak Checker to cleanse the list of irrelevant results and sites that don’t meet minimum client criteria of DR, traffic, and healthy LD/RD ratios. Then, we qualified one by one to remove farms, direct competitors, news outlets, non-blogs, or lower-quality sites.

➡️To boost response rates, we created an outreach persona under our client's name and emailed 1754 qualified sites in their niche with Respona.

➡️ Each email contained a personalized icebreaker for what we liked about their article, a no-strings-attached value offer such as featuring their content in an upcoming post we're writing, followed by our ask: either a link insert or guest post.

➡️ Our positive response rate to the cold outreach was 6%.

➡️Across 27 of their pages, we built 79 links with an average DR of 65 and Traffic 51,876.

➡️This boosted their DR from 54 to 63 and traffic to their 27 target pages from 2171 to 6100 monthly visitors (176% gain!)

🔑For successful blogger outreach, every email should contain a value exchange offer.

In our case, we either offered to reference their content in an upcoming guest post we’re writing or feature them on a list of the best blogs in their industry that we manage.

🔑Using a client’s name as your outreach persona can significantly boost response rates.

In our case, we got a 30-40% better response rate than usual, but the downside is that bloggers will ask for a reciprocal link if your client has a good site. Avoid doing that and have a backup offer ready.

🔑Using diversified anchor text and not just exact match keywords.

An exact match keyword here and there is no big deal, but imagine if all 79 of our links contained exact match keyword anchors? It’s penalty trouble waiting to happen.

Instead, mix in the partial match, keyword+words, and branded anchors regularly and save the exact match anchors for really good opportunities. This is where our Linkio tool can help with anchor text analysis and planning.

Overall, this is our general strategy to acquire high authority links, but by mixing in our client persona and varied anchor text, we were able to build links aggressively and safely.
